30th January

Goosander: The female flew off at 7.50am having spent the night on the lake.
Yellow Legged Gull: An adult was present on the lake at 1.00pm.
Redwing: 20 birds are still present on Gloucester Green.
Goldfinch: 5 birds are still present in area 25 on teasels.
Gadwall 33 birds on the lake, is a record number.

28th January

Woodcock: 1 flew over Queen Mary's at 7.15am

27th January

1 Goosander female on NE arm of the lake 7.30am.
40 Shovelers plus plenty of other waterfowl on this arm of the lake.

26th January

1 Goosander female: present with the goosanders in the collection at 9.00am. It then flew off but was relocated on the main lake, sleeping on the island. It was then seen again with the collection birds late in the afternoon, areas 5 & 26.

Goldfinch: 5 feeding on teasels in the wetland, area 25.
Redwing: 20 feeding still area 21
Sparrowhawk: 2 males displaying areas 1 & 12.
Great Spotted Woodpecker: 3 males drumming

23rd January

1 Woodcock flew low over Queen Mary's at 8.10 am, appeared to land by Marylebone Green area 11.
20 Redwings feeding on Gloucester Green at 2.00pm , area 21.
4 Goldfinches feeding on teasels in wetland, area 25.
Common Teal pair on main lake, area 5.
European Wigeon pair on lake area 5.

1 Goosander redhead present from first light until it flew off SE at 7.50am.

26 Redwings feeding on Gloucester Green, area 21
adult Yellow Legged Gull on lake 1.50am.
1 pair of Common Teal on lake

12 Redwings feeding on Gloucester Green, area 21.
Tawny Owl in tree bordering rough ground, area 29.

12 Redwings, Gloucestrer Green with some feeding on berries by St Marks Bridge

6 Redwings, Gloucester Green

7th January

1 pair of Tawny Owls in wood, no sign of breeding yet. In previous years the female would have been incubating by now

14 Mandarin

These birds were all present on the main lake around the island opposite the Holme, area 5
