A frosty start to the day, with low mist over the open spaces and an orange moon.

Rook: 2 birds flew NE at 8.05am, a rare bird in central London.
Common Buzzard: A pale phase bird flew NE at 1.00pm.
Reed Bunting: The male was calling from area 2.
Blackcap: 5 males were singing from around the park.
Chiffchaff: 2 birds were singing from area 1 and 29.
Blackbird: The first fledgling of the year was in area 1.


The warm sunshine brought out several butterfly species, with the first Orange Tip, Speckled Woods being seen along with Comma, Peacock and Red Admirals.

Comments

Birds on migration quite often make set out a territory. There seems to be a lack of Chiffies in the park so far this spring.
