Sparrowhawks possibly bred in that area...Hi Eland.

Sparrowhawks possibly bred in that area this year. I have found the park to be a little quiet of late, although I haven't had the chance to get out and about to much recently. Finding birds at this time of year can be hard unless you happen to bump into a roaming flock.

Here's to a better 2013.

Tony regents park birds.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05857667944318385224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16314333.post-26110600100146917842012-12-23T11:13:31.351+00:002012-12-23T11:13:31.351+00:00Hi Tony,
For the first time in a few weeks I have...Hi Tony,
For the first time in a few weeks I have been able to spend some quality time in bushy park as work, weather and a cold all finally relented. It was very quiet though in terms of diversity, most areas were acoustically dominated by parakeets and jackdaws. There was a sparrowhawk flying around for a minute or two over the waterhouse pond, which incidentally I have seen quite a few times there now. A kingfisher near the iron bridge, a grey wag in the canal plantation and a couple of mistle thrush between the brick bridge and Diana fountain. One small redwing group flew over too. I think I saw more passerines in the walk to the park than in the park itself!

Thanks for all your updates and have a nice Christmas and New year.
