15th August

These weather conditions are about the worst we could ask for at this time of year, unless you happen to be down near Lands End. If the winds does not swing around to one from an easterly sector we could miss out on some of our more unusual annual migrants.

Kingfisher: 1 still present in area 25 and 26.
Swift: 1 flew SW at 11.30am.
Willow Warbler: 1 or 2 moving around area 26.
Sparrowhawk: Sightings of at least one juvenile male are quite frequent, as the awkward little ****** seems to be following us around scaring all the birds away when ever we stop.

There have been several recent hatchings of Coot and Moorhen.
