The flock seems to have split, but birds can still be found feeding on thistles in areas 25,26 and 29.
Ruddy Darter: possibly the first record for the park, seen in area 25.
Oak Bush Cricket taking a drink from the top of a post.


Spotted Flycatcher: 1 in area 25, feeding around the small group of elms in the southern corner.
Common Whitethroat: 1 in area 25, feeding in bramble patch.
Willow Warbler: 2 birds moving around area 25 and 26.
Chiffchaff: 3 birds in area 25.
Swift: 2 singles over during our first stint of raptor searching, between 12.30 and 1.00pm.
Sparrowhawk: At least one juvenile male was seen in several different locations, also an adult female.

Kestrel near path between long bridge and study centre. Uses young trees as a perch. Juvenile male? Also seen there on Monday. Last year at the same time I saw kestrels in this area.

Thursday: whitethroat outside Area 29. In brambles. Visible for long time. Having a nice preen!
