14th March

As Dave and I approached the lake this morning I said that lets hope there was a gull with a black head rather than a brown one, Bingo!

Mediterranean Gull: Adult almost full summer plumage, 8.40am to 9.20am on the lake. The bird then flew out of site behind the isalnd. When we went around to look for it , the bird had gone. An hour and a half later, as we drove around the Round Pond in Kensington Garden the bird had returned here to it's recent location.
Yellow-legged Gull: Adult on the lake 11.45am.
Black-headed Gull:There was a 50% decline in the numberof birds on the lake.
Stonechat: The female was still present until 12.00pm at least in area 24.
Reed Bunting: The male was singing from the reeds next to the lakeside cafe.
Kestrel: A male was in area 11.
Sparrowhawk: A female panicked the birds on the lake at 7.50am.
