Water Rail: The bird in area 2 showed well as it fed on the bank with a Blackbird.
Redwing: Four birds flew over the rose gardens at 8.00am.
Siskin: The flock has increased to about twenty birds. They were seen flying in to area 1 and little earlier were at the north eastern end of area 26.
Goldcrest: A small flock of around ten birds are seen feeding in the Oaks by the path in area 2 most mornings.

Comments
Rose beds in area 12: coal tit.
No sign of water rail in area 2, but it was too cold to stand around for long.
No crests, maybe when we are doing our rounds they have just left their roost sites.
Plus a fox in area 24. In broad daylight. Scared off the birds on the feeders.
I was there between 2 and 3pm.
4-5 by the entrance by the golf range, flew N.
3-4 at S end of golf range, moving W.
2-3 Area 1 behind bridge.
3 end of Area 2/27.
4 Area 26/24.
Nearly all associated with Long Tailed Tit. Largest LT Tit flock at Area 2/27 of 14-16 birds, all very active. Most other flocks of 6-8.
Goldfinch at feeder Area 29 - first I've seen there. Numerous Chaffinch too.
12-14 Siskin in a single Alder Area 24 by path separating Areas 24and 26.
The park does to have more Goldcrest than is usual for this time of year.
They pssibly came over on the easterlies in the atumn, when large numbers were seen on the east coast.
I have opened up an area within the reed bed by the boat house cafe. Hopefully it will allow us to see if the Water Rail that we herd a few weeks back is still here.
I was simply amazed by the numbers. I've also got 2-3 who feed regularly on an alder tree in my front garden.
I also saw that the Mandarin Duck numbers were up - 13-15 seen.
