Hybrid aythya, but who were his parents?



Waterfowl numbers are on the increase. Do they know something that we don't know?

Mandarin Duck:
fifty-six were on the lake this morning, with lots of the drakes displaying.
Red crested Pochard: fifty-two birds were present.
Shoveler: sixteen present.
Gadwall: four
Ruddy Duck: three
Tufted Duck: one hundred and fifty-two.
Pochard: one hundred and sixteen.

Tawny Owl: a male was very vocal in area 2 at 6.15am.
Water Rail: two in the rail ditch , area 2.
Redwing: ninety-four flew through in small flocks.
Fieldfare: four birds over.

Head looks like it has strong elements of Goldeneye to me. Looks greenish and has the whitish patch.
Could there be an element of Chiloe Wigeon in it.
