11th May

A grey start to the day with low cloud, with a few rain drops late morning before the skies began to clear. It looked promising for at least seeing one large raptor, unfortunately not. The NW breeze is not the direction need to push something our way.

Common Sandpiper: one was heard calling from the direction of the lake at 5.45am.

Peregrine Falcon: two males were on station at opposite ends of the park at 8.30am.

Great B B Gull: one flew west at 8.00am.

Swift: good numbers were over or close to the park throughout the day.

Swallow: ten flew north and one headed south.

Common Whitethroat: the male was again in area 41.
