A rather grey blustery day with not much happening to inspire me to get out and about. Added to that I was working all day.
The male in this picture was an intruder and was at first evicted from the nest before any damage could be done and then chased off by the resident male.
If you stand on the opposite side of the lake looking back towards the Wetland Pen, area 32 you can view life in the Kestrel box.
At last earthworm is on the menu, though more rain would help these birds as well as the members of the thrush family.

This juvenile Great spotted Woodpecker had to be rescued from 2 Magpies. It was released back by the nest tree a short time later.
