Regent’s Park
I popped back into the park to erect a fence around my last project for the park. This is an extension to the reed bed in area 2. If we are able to get the marginal plants to complete it by mid spring, the area will improve the possibilities for the Reed Warblers to expand. In the meantime there is an outside chance that a wader will find the area of mud to his liking.
Smew; 1st winter drake seen on north edge of Heron Island, area 8 this morning.
Common Buzzard: one flew west at 1.30pm.

Bushy Park
Common Buzzard: flew over Brew House Fields, followed by corvids.
Kingfisher: two birds were possibly courting over the Brew House ponds, with one settling by the old bridge over the Longford River.
Redwing: 90 were in the Woodland Gardens at 7.15am.
Fieldfare: 40 were with the Redwings.
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker: one was calling from the Round Plantation.
Not a typical perch where you would expect to find a Green Woodpecker.
Nuthatch
Tree Creeper
Almost a good picture, the light wasn’t the best and they are not the most sluggish of birds.
