Regent’s Park
Very little change in what is around;
Reed Bunting: the male was again in the Wetland Pen.
Jackdaw: 2 birds flew north-west.
There are several pairs of Mute Swans in the park, unfortunately their fighting over territories can be quite brutal.
22 Stock Doves were feeding in my garden this afternoon
Bushy Park
Just like Regent’s very little to report.
Little Egret: the regular bird was looking for food in the grassland bordering the Hampton Court Road.
Common Buzzard: the Brew House bird is still present.
Kingfisher: one was by the scrape in the Brew House Field.
Redwing: 10 were in the Woodland Garden
Chiffchaff: 3 birds were singing.
Lesser Redpoll: the flock in the Woodland Garden numbered over 50 this morning. Seen flying from the Poplars when a Sparrowhawk shot through.
Comments
10+ Chiffchaff in-and-around the wetland pen and Area 31 - a LOT of calling!
Male Reed Buting in alders between and around wetland pen and Area 31.
Still "felt" wintry: 2 Long-tailed Tit flocks, in same area, one with2 Goldcrest - a "crest (sp)" seen in the pine trees by the feeders, Area 31.
Reed Bunting singing shortened song again in area 32 at 06.05 (but heard neither at 07.20, nor at 09.20 while on my way to an appointment).
Chiffchaffs in areas 1, 11, 20, 31 & 32 (two males in a singing contest) and 40.
Only a handful of Black-Headed Gulls remain on the lake; a pair of Mute Swans are building/repairing a nest at W end of the island near York Bridge (area 13).
