These too love a nice small fish, but with most of the silver fish having now been consumed by Cormorants or for some other reason. The grebes are finding life in the park hard, with no young on the lake this year.

Clear and mild (15C) with light SW breeze at daybreak so no overnight migrants.
Reed Warbler 3 (singing males in area-2, area-13 and area-34 [Deadman's Corner] reed beds). I haven't heard any singing from area 5 or the Wetland Pen, area 32, for several weeks.
Chiffchaff 5 (area 9: male singing from Regent's College perimeter behind Bandstand Green while a scruffy individual [juvenile?] called from weeping willow on lake shoreline, both at 06:15; male calling and singing in Wetland Pen, area 32 before chasing another bird around the Cricket Pen, area 31 at 06:30; bird calling from oak saplings near Open Spaces in area 1 at 07:25).
