Regent’s Park
There hasn’t been much change.
Common Tern: A bird or birds are commuting back and forth to Brent Reservoir, taking food to their chick?
Chiffchaff: the pair that are in the Hanover Bridge area are still present.
Common Whitethroat: the male is still singing in area 39.
Bushy Park
Similar in ways to the above, the odd Chiffchaff is singing, Whitethroat families are quite numerous on the western side of the park.
The male bird tries to bring up a pellet and eventually succeeds.
Meadow Pipits have produced a couple of broods in the SE section of the park.
Stonechat: a moulting male is also in this area.
Swallow juvenile feeding over the Brew House Meadow.
Little Owl near the gate to the Pheasantry eaterie
I couldn’t resist visiting Tring Reservoir on the way home to see the Sabine’s Gull. The trip was well worth the little delay on the M25.
This photo was taken of the bird when it dropped down from the reservoir on to the Grand Union Canal that runs alongside the reservoirs. While here it also investigated a slice of bread.
