Bushy Park

Not much happening here apart from Egyptian Geese having a wash and brush up. However I was just going through my emails before finishing for the day. One mentioned Bearded Tits in Hyde Park. Did I have time to see them before collecting my wife and going shopping. You bet I did, I was on site within 30 minutes. One other person was there, he told me they had been showing really well. I didn’t have long to wait before they, both females started to climb the reeds again. By strange coincidence both these birds were ringed. These were first site records and showed well before I had to leave them.

Great images of the Bearded Tits Tony guess Des wasn't kidding when he said that they were showing well.
The Water Rail was also showing well again today at 12.30pm on the muddy edges of the new reed bed near the Rail ditch.
Also seen was a Sparrowhawk climbing high above the Leaf Yard Wood.
He was right but there origin is unknown .
