31st March

Regent’s Park

Yellow-legged Gull: adult on the lake this morning.

Little Owl: one in area 24.

Meadow Pipit: one flew north.

Hawfinch: one high flier flew north at 7.40am.

Chaffinch: 12 flew north at 7.40am.

Jackdaw: 2 birds flew east.

Todays photos were taken using my x2 converter, a piece of kit that I have had for over a year and have hardly used. I thought as the light was good I would give it an airing.

Tony, an American dogwalker has seen Chukar-type partridges apparently kept in the private garden bordering Regent's Canal, SW of area 46 across Charlbert St Bridge, opposite the 'modern mansions'. Know of any there? (I walk by regularly and haven't seen them, however I haven't check the garden closely yet.)

The flock of Redwings that roosts overnight in trees N of Primrose Hill lookout is today down to 14 birds, from 22 earlier this week. (On 30 Mar 5 Siskins were still frequenting the area-14 thicket S of the lake.)
Grove House, many years ago had Peacocks and possibly Pheasants in the grounds. I haven't heard or noticed any in recent years.
