Bushy Park

Sorry no time for photos today, but a several first for 2013.

Lesser Whitethroat: one singing from the wrong side of the hedge that borders the gymkhana field.

Common Whitethroat: 4 alongside the Longford River north of DH Passage.

Garden Warbler: one singing from just inside the Woodland Gardens close to the Iron Bridge.

Blackcap: 12 birds present, sexes almost split 50 50.

Chiffchaff: 8 present.

Willow Warbler: 1 birds singing.

Rook: a scarce bird here possibly. This one flew high NW at 8.10am.

Jay: there were a couple of very high birds flying east.

Lesser Redpoll: a male by the river.

♀Tawny Owl called once from direction of Queen Mary's Gardens 05:25; ♂ Sparrowhawk lining nest near Winfield House, Blue Tit lining nest box Marylebone Green area 14, 1+ Siskin calling from silver birches near Leaf Yard Wood area 41.
(Still only a handful of Willow Warblers around but Dave had three Whitethroat sightings: areas 2/31/34 - ♂ singing from the chat bush again.)
