Regent’s Park
Great crested Grebe: The pair by Heron Island, area 8 were keeping their youngster close to the cover by the island. If they move to far of shore they could become easy targets for the gulls.
Herring/Lesser BB Gulls: at least 8 chicks can be seen wandering around the colony. Now that is something that I never thought I would say.
Common Tern: The pair were still present during the early part of the morning.
Stock Dove: 27 were feeding in my garden this afternoon.
Reed Warbler: 4 males were singing.
The female Kestrel collects a mouse from the male before returning to the nest box to feed their chicks.
27 Stock Doves came to feed in my garden this afternoon.
It won’t be long before the first Great spotted Woodpecker juveniles will soon be appearing.
I still get a handful of House Sparrows from the Zoo visiting my garden but as yet they haven’t wanted to use the nestboxes.
