Regent’s Park

Fairly quiet in the park this morning.

Shoveler: 22 on the main lake by area 8

Sparrowhawk: a male put the wind up all the gulls on the lake.

Tawny Owl: one was roosting in a Willow tree in area 36.

Mistle Thrush: 4 birds were singing, one of them was doing a territorial display flight.

Redwing: one dropped down into a tree near Long Bridge.

Chiffchaff: one was by Long Bridge.

Hello Tony. A dozen or so Marylebone Birdwatching Society members were in the Park this morning for our annual pre-Christmas bird walk. We were lucky enough to spot the Tawny owl. Thanks for the lovely photos, we will all have souvenirs now!

The owl has chosen a very good roost site, one where we can view him but where he won't be disturbed by over enthusistic photographers.
