Bushy Park

Cormorant: 3 were fishing on Heron Pond. I cannot remember seeing more than one bird fishing on this pond before. Several park users also wondered what these new visitors were.

Gadwall: 34 Heron Pond (14 were fly-overs)

Woodcock: one flew into the Canal Plantation at 7.30am.

Water Rail: one was near the Water house pond.

Meadow Pipit: 8 were near Heron pond.

Redwing: 50+ were feeding near the northern end of Chestnut Avenue.

Cormorants are a bird that has amazing looking feather patterning and a beautiful bluey green eye. I have been meaning to go to Kensington Gardens where you able to get up reasonably close and personal to the Cormorants. It was very convenient that the birds in Bushy Park have changed their behaviour. Normally you see them adorning the Diana Fountain.
