Regent’s Park
Northern Wheatear: one was on Marylebone Green at 7.30am until flushed by a dog walker.
Bushy Park
Water Rail: one was on the scrape at 10.30 before walking to the bank of the river opposite the Wildlife Screen.
Skylark: at least 22 were on the breeding areas.
Meadow Pipit: 26 in the same locations.
Northern Wheatear: a male in the bracken south of Heron Pond until it was flushed and flew off strongly westwards.
Blackcap: 2 males were singing.
Chiffchaff: 4 birds were singing.
It was a shame that these were not departing Bewick’s or Whooper Swans heading back north to breed.
Have they grown much in 15 days?
This is the consequence of irresponsible behaviour by teenagers
