3rd March

Bushy Park

A glorious start to the day saw me counting the number of pathways the crisscross the Skylark breeding area in the eastern corner of the park. While here I encountered several male Reed Buntings taking up territories as well as a few Meadow Pipits and at least 7 Skylarks. After this I stopped off at the Canal Plantation and still no sight nor sound of a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker.
