Richmond Park
A quick visit to the park to pick up a hire vehicle to enable me to lead OPM nest removal teams around the parks. I arrived at 5.30am and the heat from the sun was already quite warm. It didn’t take long to swap all I needed from my car into the hire vehicle, so I decided to call in at Pen Ponds on route to Bushy Pk.
Birds seen were pretty much what I was expecting apart from;
Teal: a drake was on the shore on Pen Ponds Plantation.
This goose took evasive action when it noticed me.
This is the second family this year to be raised in this nest.
A chick is just about visible in the tray.
A group of around 18 Swifts were catching insects over the ponds.
