Bushy Park

A bird of prey day, at one time there were 11 birds of 4 species. All were seen on the western side of the park.

Common Buzzard: 2 migrants and the resident pair.

Sparrowhawk: a pair thermaling.

Kestrel: adult female with one of her offspring.

Hobby: an adult and 2 juvs were looking for food at 12.00pm .

Snipe: I flushed one fro long grass by the scrape.

Swallow: 140 were feeding over the Brewhouse Meadow.

House Martin: 40+ were with the Swallows.

Sand Martin: 6 with the other hirundines.

Reed Warbler: at least 8 feeding in bushes just north of Dukes Head Passage.

Blackcap, Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs were also present.

There is a small group Red Deer in the Brewhouse that behave like truly wild deer. The stag and I bumped into each other, well almost, he quickly turned and ran off into dense cover.
