Bushy Park
It was a cold frosty start with low level mist covering much of the park.
Birds were few but interesting.
Common Buzzard: the male was over the Brew House Meadow.
Kestrel & Sparrowhawk: males were also seen over the meadow.
Little Owl: birds were vocal in 6 areas of the park.
Skylark: 9 birds were in the Skylark Zone, it is very disappointing that there are so many selfish people who refuse to follow the instructions on the signs asking for dogs to be put on a lead in this area.
Northern Wheatear: a male was in the Skylark Zone.
Meadow Pipit: 4 birds were also in this area.
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker: a male was calling from within the Round Plantation.
Cetti’s Warbler: the male can still be heard from the view point on Dukes Head Passage or along the boundary fence north of the passage.
Chiffchaff: 3 birds were singing.
My camera let me down with this shot, the light wasn’t great but for some reason the focus wasn’t spot on. Mind you they were a fairway off.
It was that cold the young rabbits were rubbing their noses together
