Halfway through August and migration has slowed.
All the migrants you would expect to see within the first 15 days of August have put in an appearance, though in general numbers have been low. Not that I have seen them all but 3 of our top four regulars have been seen, Pied Flycatcher, Wood Warbler and Common Redstart, the Redstart showed while I was in Norfolk. There has been 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 7 Common Whitethroats, Willow Warbler day count peaked at 17+ while Chiffchaffs have been very noticeable by their absence, 7 on the 13th being the most seen in a day. Most of these birds have been seen in the Cricket Pen, while the Chat Enclosure has been very disappointing with only a couple of quality birds Lesser Whitethroat and today our 2nd Spotted Flycatcher, the first was in the Cricket Pen on14th.
Below are some images that I have manged to grab.
