Now I understand about the bluethroat!
Any tips for seeing/hearing nightingales in Lea Valley (Cheshunt) this weekend?
Also, any sign of the wood warblers? Dave said that this is the week in April when they usually arrive.

They can be skulky little brown jobs,
well not that little. They seem to throw their voices, so be patient.
If you are going by train, go to Cheshunt, then follow signs to The Lee Valley(Fishers Green). You need to make your way towards the Bittern Watch Point. Just north of their is Holyfield Lake, the area between the two places is the main area.
Regents Park used to be one of if not the best place to see Wood Warblers in the London area. Numbers in the UK have dropped so much that it has become harder to see this species in the park.As Dave said this is the peak time for birds (males)to pass through. Then it is a case of looking carefully particularly in Oak trees for the females. Autumn migration is then the next chance. Keep a watch on the skies in the Lee Valley for raptors, so many people keep their eyeline to low. e
