There were 2 very elusive Common Whitethroats feeding in the brambles near the pond between 10.00 & 10.30am area 29. At 9.40 a Blackcap and a Willow warbler in the Holme hedge area 7. Also the Great Crested Grebe is still sitting on her nest situated in the willows at the Clarence bridge end of the new Heron island, area 6. She has at least 1 chick (3 days old?)which was partially visible on her back and possibly another hatched yesterday but no definite sightings of 2 chicks together. Rose
