After the weekends heavy rain, the lake is higher than it has been for more than 4 years.
As I have said previously these atlantic systems are bad news for any birds moving through the park. However the mild temperatures are encouraging more birds to sing.
Tawny Owl: 1 was looking for worms on the ground or perched in the small trees that border The American Ambassadors Residence between area 1 and 31 at 6.45am. Later it was roosting in a Holly Tree.
Redwing: 12 birds in 1's and 2's flew through or perched briefly in berry laden trees before moving on.
Goldcrest: 8 birds were feeding in the rose wheel in Queen Mary's at 7.50am , area 12.
