26 March 1730-1845
Trees by Golf Range: 2 pair Long Tailed Tit
Area 29: 2 Chiffchaff heard. 1 possible seen, but with sun in utterly wrong direction, who knows? 1 at N end, other closer to the works yard.
1 Sparrowhawk seen low level, then medium level soaring over playing fields.
Green Woodpecker "yaffling" in mature trees at N end of park.

Good news: remains of Parakeet found in bushes top end of Area 29!

Hannover Bridge: Water Rail showing well.
2 Reed Bunting: 1 M, 1 F, feeding in ditch and low levels of reeds. Pretty sure I know where they "hang out" in reed beds.
2 pair Long Tailed Tit.
2 pair Wren displaying and marking territory in and around reeds.
1 pair Blue Tit acting like Reed Warblers.

dipped tawny owl, water rail and reed bunting yesterday morning (27th). I'm pretty sure I know which tree the tawny uses but he wasnt there yesterday. I guess I'll have to wait for your guided walk in April, Tony - is it still on and what chance will we have of seeing the owls?
