I am sorry for the absence of news for several days, I have just had a short break in Norfolk. The weather was more like early spring and quite cold with NE winds. I managed to see 119 species though numbers of summer visiting migrants were a little low. Among the highlights were up to 4 Montagu's Harriers, 2 Temmink Stints, 2m Garganey, 1 booming Bittern and 6 Turtle Doves. The two surprises of the trip were 2 Fieldfares and 1 Redwing.

Two house martins over the boating lake at lunchtime. Could not see the terns: are they still here?
Hi Debbie

They were there until 11.00am at least, they may have moved on to a post on the lake.
