Was the mystery bird a greenfinch?

Last Friday I saw these butterflies: gatekeeper, speckled wood, meadow brown, holly blue, small white, green veined white. Nothing to get the pulse racing I admit, but nice to see.
Seems to be quiet a few Gatekeepers around. They show so much better when the wind drops.
