Back from the Isles of Scilly to here that the first of the thrushes and finches have been passing over. Hirundines are still being seen, though it is getting rather late, so it is worth seeing if you can beat your latest dates.
Highlights:
Redwing: The first birds were heard at 10.15pm 26/9.
Redwing:10 over 27/9.
House Martin: 100+ 27/9.
Jackdaw: 2 0ver 28/9.
Swallow: 120 south-west 29/9.
Chiffchaff: 10+ 29/9.
Tawny Owl: What is thought to be a pair were in the Queen Mary's 30/9.
Swallow: 140+ 30/9.
Redwing: 40 west 30/9.
Skylark: 2 west 2/10.
Swallow: 12 over 3/10.
House Martin: 20 over 3/10.
Redwing: 300 south-west in two groups 4/10.
Kingfisher: 1 still present 6/10.
Meadow Pipit: 20 flew north-west 6/10.
