Common Buzzard. Three birds flew SE at 2.15pm. We had spent lunchtime scanning the skies with nothing to show for it. These birds showed when the lower cloud dispersed and more therm cumulus clouds began to build, with the temperature rising rapidly.
Tree Pipit.
One was flushed from the long grass bordering area 26 at 8.30am.
Wood Warbler. There was a very vocal bird in area 24 with the tit flock. It took a while to locate and was only glimpsed once before the flock flew into the Open Air Theatre at 16.30pm.
Lesser Whitethroat. One was in the golf and tennis courts.
Greater Whitethroat. One was in the same area.
Garden Warbler. One in " " "
Blackcap. eight birds in areas 26 and 30.
Chiffchaff. At least fifteen birds present.
Willow Warbler. Three birds in area 26, with one in area 30.
Sand Martin. Four birds were feeding low over the lake at 11.00am.
House Martin. A flock of one hundred were feeding over the lake.
Swallow. Ninety birds flew through in a more westerly direction.
Spotted Flycatcher. Three birds were gratefully reported feeding in the golf and tennis court area this afternoon (cheers Francis).
