20th December

The Water Rail waits to make sure the coast is clear before coming out to feed on the pellets that I had put down for it.

Tawny Owl: Two males calling from areas 1 and 14 at 6.30am.
Water Rail: One bird still present in the ditch in area 2.
Siskin: Eight birds moving between area 24 and 26.

Water Rail showing well, if intermittently. Nervous? A new bird from the last..?
Lg Td Tit flocks of 6-8 birds in Areas 20, 22, 26.
No Siskins seen around Area 24 - too late with dusk closing in..?
Gn Woodpecker by Long Bridge.
Gt Std Woodpecker by path down to Children's Playground by Gloucester Gate

Hi, Friday 19th at dusk, I heard a cetti's in the reedbeds where the water rail has been seen. Not sure if that's an interesting bird for the park?

Hi Parus.

This would be a first for the park. Are you absolutely certain? Then again there is not much else that sounds as powerful as a Cetti's Warbler. Well done.
