20th October

Not the best photos, the weather a bit to dull for digiscoping at long range. I put out the rail feeding station yesterday, this morning both birds came to feed from it. So presumably they are birds that were present earlier in the year.

Not a lot going on today, just the odd Redwing and Grey Wagtail passing overhead.

Hi Tony,

I saw what looked like a pair of buzzards circling NE past my house in Tufnell Park yesterday 2pm - these wouldn't have flown over the park? Is this unlikely? There doesn't seem to be as much buzzard action as last year, am I right?

All the best,

Piers
Hi Piers

There is no reason that to think that they were not Buzzards. Their population on the outskirts of London is increasing rapidly. The reason that there have been a lack of raptor sightings this autumn is due to the lack of favourable winds. There has also been few days with good thermalling conditions.
