11th May

A small group turned up to look for the Nightjar yesterday evening, without any success. It was expecting a lot for the bird to be present for a second day, especially with the weather being so cold and a lack of aerial food.

Today

Great crested Grebe: The pair by the bandstand island have left the nest and are carrying their young on their backs.

Swallow: one flew west at 8.00am.

Common Whitethroat. a male was singing from inside the hedge bordering the goose grazing paddock, area 26 this morning.

Reed Warbler: three singing birds.

Chiffchaff: four singing birds.
