15th September

Meadow Pipit: 270 flew through, mainly heading to south-west.

Yellow Wagtail: two singles flew through.

Grey Wagtail: two birds were present.

Swallow: 120 birds headed south westwards.

House Martin: 40 headed through, and a handful of birds from the nearby colony were still present.

Sand Martin: one flew over the lake.

Lesser Whitethroat: one was bathing in the Wetland Pen this afternoon.

Chiffchaff: a few birds are still present, mainly with the tit flocks.

The Swallows really made it difficult to get any half decent photos as they shot through.

This Kestrel was hovering over the long grass near area 34

This Great Spotted Woodpecker was taking a risk. They are easy targets for Peregrines and Sparrowhawks.
