7th September

The overnight rain had cleared London by dawn leaving  a fairly dry but blustery day. The winds have now veered to the south-west, not really the best direction for bring birds into the park.

Common Buzzard: one came in low from the NW at 1.25pm, regained some height and departed to the SW.

Collared Dove: one flew east at 7.10am.

Grey Wagtail: three birds were seen.

Spotted Flycatcher: one was in area 30 this morning.

Common Whitethroat: two calling from the long grass n area 40.

Chiffchaff: six birds were around.

A flock of eighteen very high flying Cormorants came in from the west, thermaled for a while before heading off east.

A Cormorant on the lake preferred to air his wings rather than join the flock.
