3rd May

Arctic Tern: 3 flew high east at 9.10 am, slightly concerned by a male Peregrine that was on station above the lake.

Common Tern: a pair were again present, departing when another male came into the area. They chased him off, and didn’t return.

Common Gull: four birds flew north at 6.40am, a rare sight at this time of year.

Black-headed Gull: Ten birds in two groups were seen prior to 8.30am, with one flock staying for a while. It is also unusual to see this amount at this time of year.

Common Sandpiper: one again present on area 8.

Common Swift: The first of the year flew through at 12.10pm.

Swallow: Five flew through.

Peregrine Falcon: A male was soaring over the park at 9.00am.

Sparrowhawk: birds were seen over area 32 and 41.
