24th August

At last an arrival of some decent migrants

Common Buzzard: one drifted slowly NE at 10.40am

Common Swift: three over trees in area 2 at 6.30am and another flew through mid morning.

Northern Wheatear: one was on the open spaces, area 37 mid morning.

Whinchat: a juvenile caught insects in the long grass by area 34. It used the gorse and bramble bushes to watch from.

Common Redstart: male seen in area 31 before moving to area 30.

Lesser Whitethroat: one was in the Cricket Pen area 31 at 8.30am.

Common Whitethroat: 10 birds in area 31, 34 and 41

Garden Warbler: one in area 31.

Blackcap: 22 birds mainly in the area at the NE end of the lake.

Willow Warbler: 24 birds in area 31 to 34.

Chiffchaff: 18 birds also in the same location.

Spotted Flycatcher: 2 birds in the Cricket Pen.
