Regent’s Park

Smew: the drake is still present, however this morning it was visible by Heron Island, area 8 looking from Longbridge. It was probably here due to tarmac laying work that was going on around the Longbridge Sanctuary yesterday.

Bushy Park

Common Buzzard: the bird is still present in the Brew House Field area.

Common Snipe: one was flushed from beside the scrape in the Brew House Field, viewable from the Iron Bridge area.

Common Teal: 11 birds were also on the scrape.

Water Rail: 2 birds were calling from beside the pools in the same area.

Redwing: 26 were feeding in the Woodland Garden by the Longford River.

Nice shots Tony. Pretty hard to get a Snipe in flight I would imagine, something i have not mastered yet.
Cheers Marc.
One day I will make more of an effort, at the moment they are just grab shots. They are so quick off the mark, ideally you want to be in a position on the line they will fly on when spooked. But at this time of year when they could be struggling I don't want to intentionally flush one.
