14th July

Regent’s Park

Common Sandpiper: one flew across the lake to area 36 early morning. It is likely to have stayed all day, going on the weather conditions.

Common Tern: 2 birds over the lake, probably 2 males looking for food for their growing chicks back at Brent Res.

Little Owl: one in area 25 this morning, though I didn’t spend more than five minutes in the area.

Reed Warbler: male still singing in the reed bed in area 13.

Chiffchaff: 4 birds at least present, it won’t belong before migrating birds will be joining them.

DSCN0909

This is the first time that Area 13 with this reed bed has been mentioned on this blog. The reeds were planted by volunteers almost 4 years ago.

Birdlife much like yesterday but no sandpiper, Common Whitethroat singing again in area-40 field and male Chiffchaff singing and calling intermittently in Leaf Yard Wood, area 40.
