Teal: one roosting on the Bandstand Island.

Shoveler: 9 birds feeding on the boating lake.

Mandarin: several birds nest prospecting along the Canal.

Waxwing: 35 flew east at 6.30am, could this be the last birds of the winter? Probably not, it just needs some time spent scanning the skies.

Blackcap: a male in the Holme this morning.

Jackdaw: one flew NW this morning.

Siskin: 15 in the Wetland Pen.

Reed Bunting: a male in the Wetland Pen.

Bushy Park

Teal: 7 on the scrape.

Mandarin Duck: 4 males and 2 females flew from the Canal Plantation.

Common Snipe: 2 feeding by one of the pools, one was flushed from the scrape later on.

Skylark: 10 south of Upper Lodge Road.

Reed Bunting: a male was by the Longford River.

Siskin: still good numbers in Canal Plantation.

Adult Grey Heron males in breed condition have bills the same colour as Zoom lollies.

6 (4♂ 2♀) Teal in Hanover Sanctuary area 1 at 07:55 having earlier been flushed from Wetland Pen scrape a32, 6 Redwing feeding under trees just N of Primrose Hill lookout a50 at dawn.
Ominously, many corvids are busy nest-building: the pair of Crows in the Longbridge Sanctuary a35 are now lining theirs.
