Bushy Park

This bird had me rushing to grab my bins, answers later.

Teal: 5 on the Scrape.

Waxwing: 12 birds flew NE at 12.45pm.

Kingfisher: a female was perched by the Longford River just north of the Dukes Head Passage.

Skylark: at least 14 birds in the main strongholds for this species in the park.

Meadow Pipit: 10 birds in the SE sector.

Pied Wagtail: one flew north.

Fieldfare: 12 in the Paddocks.

Redwing: 80 in the Paddocks.

Siskin: 35 in Poplar trees in the Woodland Garden close to Dukes Head Passage.

Linnet: a pair in the Paddocks.

Reed Bunting: 6 birds present.

Mistle Thrush and Fieldfare (below) for comparison. The shot aren’t great but the birds are very nervy in this area.

The answer to the bird in the top photo becomes clear. This Red Kite flew south at 12.20pm, eventually gaining to much height for the crow.
