As expected, a male Wren is building a nest in the upturned roots of the tree that fell through the fence just inside the NE gate to Queen Mary's Gardens a.18, bringing in small dead leaves at a rate of knots. Jay singing in a.17 nearby. Crow adding twigs to nest at NE end of Longbridge Island a.36.

1♂ Wood Duck roosting on SE shore of Heron Island area 8, 3 Meadow Pipit NW 07:10 past Hub a.38 - the first passerine migrants I've seen this spring apart from thrushes.
For a second day at least, the male Wren is packing leaves into his nest in a.18, trying to impress. :)
