Regent’s Park

Here as well as Bushy and Richmond Park things were a little quiet on the migrant front. Saying that I was to busy to check some of the locations that had been holding migrants. Here are a few snaps from these parks.

1st winter Yellow-legged Gull on the lake on Saturday.                    There was a 1st winter Common Gull today.

The Kingfisher was seen in area 36.

There were less warblers present, but area 39 yesterday held 4 species.

Bushy Park

As well as these two Reed Warblers there was also a Cetti’s Warbler in this bush by a pool in the Brew House Meadow. However it never came out on my side. There were also 18 Mistle Thrushes feeding on the ground in this area.

The adult brings in the first of 2 Goldfinches.

A Jackdaw tries to harass one juvenile but soon gave up. It was a different story when a musket gave chase. The Hobby had to take quick evasive action to shake him off. Unfortunately I came across a dead juvenile female Sparrowhawk, possible killed by corvids.

Richmond Park

This Teal was flushed from the shore of Pen Pond, 3 Gadwall were also present.

The Kingfisher was by the Anglers Enclosure, nearby Water Rails were calling.

A pair of Sparrowhawks were over Pen Ponds Plantation.
