5th September

Regent’s Park:

Not the best weather for bird movements.

Spotted Flycatcher: 1 poss 2 birds in area 39.

Common Whitethroat: a couple of birds present.

Blackcap: at least 6 present.

Will/chiff: a handful of birds around.

Richmond Park

I spent a fair bit of today overseeing work in Pen Ponds Plantation. This did give a chance to see what was in the area while I had lunch.

Little Grebe: one was hiding himself away on the edge of the reed bed.

Great crested Grebe: an adult with one large juvenile fished the area inside the deer fence.

Mandarin Duck: 8 birds flew over.

Gadwall: three birds dropped in at 11.45am.

Hobby: Ist summer male and at least 2 juveniles put in an appearance.

Kingfisher: one kept on doing circuits of the lake, once giving me a chance to get a half decent photo.

Nice one Tony, I think these are your best Hobby photos yet! Were these taken over Pen Ponds? At what time?

Jack
Thanks Jack. They were taken at pen ponds from mid morning onwards. You would have to stand on the western shore.
