16th March

Regent’s Park

Common Buzzard: one flew north at 11.00am.

Woodcock: one flew from the Holme, area 10 and then low past the Bandstand at 8.00am.

Lesser spotted Woodpecker: a female was calling from the Bandstand Island at 8.30am. It took me a while to locate her for her to immediately fly off across the lake northward having been spooked by 5 inquisitive parakeets.

Blackcap: males singing in areas 11 and 34.

Chiffchaff: one in area 41.

Comments

lesser spot woodpecker what a fantastic sight in the park.....shame about those pesky parrkets.
I heard it for over 5 mins before it showed, which was a bad move because the parakeets then landed close by and spooked it. Bh
