30th May

Red Warning

Oak Processionary Moth.

The first cluster of caterpillars were found in Richmond Pk a couple of weeks ago and in Bushy Park a week later. We have again enlisted the help of volunteers to help us survey the park. Any clusters of caterpillars or their nests are mapped. We then have the nests removed before they pupate and hatch out as moths. This method allows us to avoid spraying all the Oaks in the park.
